The Right Step

We started taking the security plywood off the windows and doors and started sweeping out the cob webs and trash and moving in and remodeling the new Right Step on October 27, 2011

The property used to be the historic Gables Hotel, which ironically had become in its latter years an old run down dope fiend hotel, across the street from the recently remodeled Johnny’s Navajo Hogan.

The Right Step is a non-profit collaborative effort consisting of different Christian organizations whose missions are similar in outcomes. Their similarities create a synergy that enables all involved to expand and strengthen their respective agencies in a Christian environment.

The Right Step currently consists of the following agencies:

• The Christian Recovery Home (Drug and Alcohol Treatment, Christian Discipleship)

• The Right Step Sober Living Home (Anger Management, Relapse Prevention , GED, 12 Step)

• The Leadership Journey (Mentoring & Leadership Development)

• Victory Educational and Training Institute (Bible College Extension)

• Food Pantry (Partner agency yet to be determined)

The Christian Recovery Home is the foundational base of Victory Outreach International and a 24 hour live-in drug and alcohol rehabilitation program whose main focus is Christian discipleship, community leadership and transition back to being a productive members of society.

The Right Step Sober Living Home is an outpatient program providing relapse prevention and behavior management courses. In both of these programs clients are taught to understand, recognize, and respond to cognitive distortions and negative behaviors that need to be renewed so the development of moral character and personal responsibility is established and practiced in everyday situations through fundamental values.

The Leadership Journey is a comprehensive leadership training course developed with face-to-face and online formats to insure proper rigor. Victory Educational and Training Institute is an extension of Victory Outreach International and assists those students who have a desire to enter into the ministry.

The Victory Educational and Training Institute (VETI) develops and maintains balanced curriculums on two levels: the Associate of Religious Studies Certificate and the Ministerial Studies Diploma to prepare God’s people for the specific ministry and calling that God wants them to fulfill.

The food pantry will provide services to families in need of food assistance.

As the architects, contractors and Reverend Al Loma decide on the final renovation plans for the property we will be offering your business sponsorship and marketing opportunities involving significant advertising before, during and after the 4th annual Old School Car Show, advertising in front of the Right Step property in the Nevada and Fillmore Avenue area, and both local and Statewide recognition to the business owners that become part of the vision.

The future of the new Right Step will involve removing some of the interior walls and remodel the entire property to be more compatible for a Christian campus environment with larger living, study, meeting and dining areas. Also we plan to include a larger kitchen and laundry facility.

We are also building a large pre-fab steel building in the middle of the property to be used as a chapel and praise and worship center.

There are many ways your business can sponsor the new Right Step. One method is to fund any of the small projects. Another approach is to support the complete remodeling of one of the rooms or spaces. Whichever level of sponsorship you chose your business will enjoy the benefits of being part of the vision.

Through minimal sponsorship your business will receive a beautifully engraved plaque honoring your business and contribution to the Right Step and another professional plaque giving acknowledgement to your business hung in a place of tribute at the Right Step.

Larger contributions will receive a sign or banner with your businesses logo/brand strategically placed facing North and South bound traffic on Nevada Avenue

This marketing will enhance optimal advertising for your business on Nevada Avenue during the remodeling phase announcing your business as a proud sponsor of the Right Step.

The highest sponsorship level involves complete remodeling of a particular area. At the maximum funding stage your business will receive all of the above and the space you chose at the Right Step facility will be professionally decorated in your businesses colors scheme with your logo or brand placed noticeably within “your” room. And for that space to be officially called the name of your business, ie: the Home Depot Room.

Finally because of your business commitment to Victory Outreach Church of Colorado Springs and the Right Step, you, your family, all your friends, and all your employees will be invited to the Statewide ribbon cutting service involving all the other sponsors and the who’s who of Colorado to be held upon completion of all construction.

For more information about these and many other opportunities, including sponsorship and vendor opportunities at the up coming 4th annual Old School Car Show, please contact Gotta Lovett Promotions

PS: On behalf of Reverend Al Loma, Senior Pastor, Victory Outreach of Colorado Springs and the dedicated brothers at the Christian Recovery Home, including myself, we want to give a sincere “thank you” to all the humble and enthusiastic ladies that are members of this year’s group called the Women’s Community Leadership Initiative (WCLI)

WCLI is branch of Leadership Pikes Peak. WCLI teaches modest women to learn about their community, teaches them skills to successfully collaborate in a group, and presents various seminars teaching skills important in the career world. WCLI is a 6 month group that is divided into two 12 person groups that each choose a community project to complete until the WCLI graduation in June 2012.

This year the WCLI project is their proposal for our new Right Step sober living facility.
